Puja in Siva Purana
Śīva Purana Vidyesarasamhita gives the following directives:
Vāra worship is for Brahman [25] and others, day is calculated from Sunrise to Sunset [25]. Worship based on Tithi is for enjoyment of the devotee [26]. If tithi extentds to midday then the one which was on sunrise is counted for the day [26]. Devotee should consider all these aspects and proceed with the worship, japa like Mahaganapati Puja should be done on Chaturhi day of Kṛṣṇā paksa. [32]. This makes the whole paksa free of sin [33]. This worship performed in Siṁha and Bhadrapada months gives enjoyment of wordly pleasures [34].
